General Information:
Artesunate Amodiaquine is a potential combination manufactured for inhibiting intensification of drug resistance and for decreasing malaria transmission levels. Artesunate and amodiaquine tablets are an antimalarial agent. Artesunate is ideal for the treatment of uncomplicated cases of malaria due to Plasmodium falciparum malaria, including cerebral malaria, and amodiaquine is a 4-aminoquinoline compound related to chloroquine used as an antimalarial and anti-inflammatory agent.
Side Effects:
As with all pharmaceuticals, some unwanted effects can occur from the use of artesunate + amodiaquine tablets. Always consult a doctor or health care professional for medical advice before use. Common side effects include, but may not be limited to diarrhea, skin rash, itching, and nausea. Seek medical attention if the following develop: irregular heart beating, diplopia, dizziness.

Contra-indications, adverse effects, precautions: – Do not administer in the event of previous severe adverse reaction to treatment with amodiaquine (e.g. hypersensitivity reaction, hepatitis, leucopenia, agranulocytosis).
– Do not administer to patients taking efavirenz.
– May cause: gastrointestinal disturbances, headache, dizziness, pruritus.
– If the patient vomits within 30 minutes after administration, re-administer the full dose.
– Pregnancy: no contra-indication
– Breast-feeding: no contra-indication |
